Hi All I have been given a Minolta Dimage Dual Scan - the kind that connects via an SCSI card. I have 2x SCSI cards: An ISA card which I have fitted to an old Win 98 box, installed the software and it all works great, so I know the scanner is good. Win XP box has no ISA slots so I got an Adaptec AHA-2940uw SCSI card. Fitted this to the Win Xp box and it recognises this fine, reported as OK in Device Manager - NO errors. Whilst I can get Win XP to detect new hardware and it finds the Scanner - reported as a Minolta 2882 (which I think is OK) and the scanner does spring into life at this point I cant get the scanner to work. Have updated the BIOS on the SCSI card - fine still reports no problems. Got the latest ASPI Win XP driver from Adaptec Re-installed the Minolta software - from the Minolta web site.

One curious thing: if I boot the PC with the scanner switched on the PC fails to boot, hangs at the SCSI card BOIS screen. Boots fine with the scanner switched off. If I boot, use the add new hardware the scanner is found and the Adapted utility even reports the scanner on the correct SCSI ID. Any ideas/comments/suggestions - Has anybody got one of these working under Win XP??
